Have you ever considered that water heaters need maintenance?  To be honest, I know I didn’t.  We do know that most water heaters can last a very long time so it only follows that they are also easy to forget about or neglect.  However, just 5-10 minutes of your time at least once per year, to perform water heater maintenance can pay off and extend the appliance’s life and efficiency.  I reached out to our friends at Dave Jones Inc. and asked them if they could outline the steps to maintain a water heater.  See their illustration below:
