As a home builder, we are excited to see more women enter the construction field. The hardest hit segment of our workforce today is the skilled trades — welders, electricians, carpenters, and machinists – all very much needed in the construction and manufacturing arena.  October is Careers in Construction Month and as this article states, “the construction sector can provide a rewarding, fulfilling career path for anyone.” You don’t have to be a recent high school graduate to choose a career in this field. Maybe you are older and are thinking of a career change, or finding that your carpentry hobby is more rewarding than your office job – either way it is never too late to pursue a new vocation.
